NYG priority window closes Wednesday, November 8 - what does this mean?
Registration for the 2007 National LCMS Youth Gathering is in full
swing. With the "priority window" closing on Nov. 8, the Gathering
wants to assure participants that they can STILL register for the
National Gathering.
To register for the Gathering after Nov. 10, registrants will need to
complete the Registration Form and the All Participant signature form.

downloadable PDFs of these forms; or photo copy the forms from the Gathering Registration Book (pages 12-14).
So, why is there a priority window and what purpose does it serve? The
priority window exists so that if participant numbers reach capacity
during the opening days of registration, there is a strategy for how
groups are admitted into the event.
Here's how it works ...
Groups whose materials are received during the two-week priority time
frame are marked and opened "first" as the registration office starts to
tally up numbers of participants. Also, groups whose materials are
received during the two-week window receive "priority" attention in
their housing requests. Groups whose materials are received during the
window are housed "first" and the Gathering makes every effort to place
these groups in one of their top ten indicated hotel choices.
Unless capacity is reached during the priority window, Gathering
registration remains OPEN at the rate of $235 per participant until
March 1, 2007. After March 1, 2007 participants are admitted on a space
available basis at the late registration fee of $285.
If capacity is reached at the end of the priority window, the Gathering
places incoming registrants on a waiting list for acceptance into the
event. Gathering registration never really "closes" - even when
capacity is reached, there are many cancellations, substitutions, and
opportunities for groups to be placed at the event.
